There's a sock tutorial called Silver's Sock class that you might look into. Silver was a moderator here for several years.

Fantastic Website!
I have been knitting off and on for several years and having a place to go for questions and tips is so helpful. The videos are also helpful. It is also fun to talk to fellow knitters. I am looking forward to chatting with you!

My name is Brian and I am 23 years old.

I am happily married to my wife Laura (we've been married since April '10) and no kids, yet, but am anxiously waiting for the day that I hear from Laura that I am going to be a dad.

I decided after a hiatus in knitting (and after learning to crochet, spin, and spindle - which I am not all that good at) to pick up again and prepare to do my first and major project of the New Year, my soon-to-be newborn nephew's baby blanket. My sister-in-law is helping me pick out the yarn. After consulting with my wife, I just placed my order this morning for a Zephyr Options Set and a View Sizer from KP.

Way excited!

Hope to get to know y'all!

Hello! My name is Madelyne (or Maddie whichever you prefer ). I learned to knit a little over a year ago. I never finished my first project , a scarf, until earlier this month when I got the knitting bug to start again. I finished my scarf in time for Christmas. I wanted to knit again when a certain fellow mentioned to me that he wanted a particular hat. I decided to be silly and impress him by making the hat for him. I still haven't finished it, but in the process have learned how to purl, knit in the round, cast on (several times), and how to stick with projects even when you want to throw them in your wood pellet stove. This hat has been one adventure after another and I am anxious to find someone who can help me cast off because I don't know how. I have been watching the videos on Knitting Help over and over again and decided today I should join the forum. I've also started another project and am currently stuck. I will probably post a question as soon as I am finished with this introduction (sorry it is so long). Let the knitting begin!

Hello fellow knitters,

I am new to forums, so I am bumbling my way through. I have been knitting for about 8 years and just completed my 135th pair of socks (they travel so easily). We just learned that our 1st grandbaby will be a little girl (I had all boys), so I am anxious to begin knitting for her. If you know of have any sweet little blanket, sweater, dress, or christening patterns, please them along.

I look forward to sharing my knitting journeys with you.

Just wanted to say hi. I discovered this website when I was trying to find measurements for mittens. Thanks so much for your help with this. I learned how to knit when I was 11. I knit continental style, but now am trying out the Eastern style. There's not much info about it. If anybody can help me out with this, I'd appreciate it.

Hello everyone!
My name is Jane and I am a stay at home mom living in NY on Long Island. My husband and I have 2 daughters, ages 6 & 16. I learned how to knit 2 years ago and am a member of our church's prayer shawl ministry. I have gotten SO much help from the videos on this site! I look forward to getting to know others in the forum.
