Welcome to the forum!
Drop marker means to let the stitch marker slip off the needle. Presumably a marker was added on a previous row and now it is no longer needed.

Hi Amy,
want to say thank you to the folks that helped me last week in resetting a pattern, with a different yarn and developing a proper gauge. It was very helpful...changed from a sport yarn to a heavier weight (#4). The sweater is coming out great and am hoping to be able to find the right measurement to complete the sleeves. I think I'll be able to get through the fronts okay, but I know if I need help I can contact 'salmonmac' . thanks again

marfred, I happy that you're on your way with the project.
Lilia, I think we'd all agree. We're all learning here.
Thanks to you both for joining the forum.
