Surprise Theme Swap-Who's in, Pg 2, PACKAGES ARRIVING!!

Hi!
Thanks Snephanie for doing the summer swap for us! i know everyone had a great time, and it went so smooth- just a couple of hiccups

Since the summer swap is coming to a close, a few kh'ers have already expressed a desire for another swap! Both Nobones and I stepped forward to organize the next swap. We decided she would do a holiday swap and i will do this swap

Swap time line is easy. Sign-ups close August 18, 2007. It is a one month swap, with your package being shipped no later then October 1, 2007. Please be timely!

here is the plan:

each person would pick a theme/idea/color they love (i.e. roses, mermaid, green, fast cars, cookies, lady bugs ...)
favourite fibers (and allergies too! got to be a responsible swapper
one technique or particular type of pattern they haven't tried but would like to
multiple options would be even better, and make it much more of a surprise!

the secret sender would then be responsible for doing the following:

dye, spin, or buy yarn in their selected price range and theme
buy at least one pattern that highlights the technique their receiver wants to learn (or possible an exact pattern)
keep everything in theme! (edible goodies not-withstanding

optional of course (as usual) would be little goodies like stitch markers (handmade or bought), chocolate, teas, special regional treats or favourite candies .. whatever pops into your fabulous head! the idea of the receiver giving the sender at least two theme ideas to choose from would make the anticipation and surprise a little greater, and in my not so humble opinion, even better.

this initial post is to get your creative juices flowing, and time to come up with theme ideas to give your sender choices. feel free to share in the thread ideas for themes, or ways to incorporate themes!

Me too, me too! I just missed the deadline for the last one being a newbie but I have loved watching it unfold. I am so in but I have no idea how to pick a theme????

stirsmommy! you just pick any old thing you like. say you love the color purple. there you go, you got a theme

or your a huge nascar fan, there's a theme.... HTH really, your imagination is your limit!

This sounds like tons of fun, I love the theme idea. I'm definitely in. I am going to have to spend some time thinking of a theme before I can fill out the questionnaire. Thanks Jeanius!

Yay!! I'm so excited about this one!!! Don't get me wrong, I had fun organizing the other one, but I want to jump in and actually play this time!!
