Need a cute bag or backpack for 5yo girl
My son is going to a birthday party for a little girl he goes to preschool with (who is also the granddaughter of one of my mom's good friends), and my mom suggested I knit her a bag. I was thinking of felting one, but I can't seem to find a pattern that I think a 5yo would like. I've looked through the patterns at knittingpatterncentral but none of them seem quite right. I may end up looking through some of my books and making something up, but I figured I'd check to see if anyone knew of a cute pattern???

I wish I had taken a picture before I gave it as a gift, but I made a bag for a three year old this summer. Pink mercerized cotton (Fantasy Naturale) rectangle knit in stockinette and a trimmed with a novelty yarn. I lined the bag and added a handle of three strands of single crochet braided together.

I also added some of the novelty yarn to a pair of flip flops so that she had a matching bag and shoes!

I saw a cute heart bag but it is crochet
It's heart shaped and I heard patterns for each can be converted.
Here is the URL in case you are interested.
