Ooops looks like I posted my note in the wrong spot. I hit new topic instead of reply, so I just wanted to say hello and I really like this site. I am 48 and mom to 2; daughter 28 and son 23; hubby and I have been happily married for more than 25 years. Live in London, Ontario Canada. Hope to get some tips and make new knitting friends along the way,
Diane

Too bad we all don't live closer together b/c I bet we could put together one awesome stitch n bitch.

I'm Lana from Omaha.

I got into knitting one year ago when I was on bed rest while prego. A friend who owns/operates a LYS in Sioux City Iowa (SUSAN'S YARN GARDEN http://www.susansyarngarden.com) mailed me some baby yarn, needles, and a book of beginer baby knits. I had nothing else to do on bed rest, so I started to knit and now I'm just an addict. Love it, love it.

I love learning to do new techniques. I love altering patterns to make them more personal / mine.

Hope to chat with you all on the forum.

what a find!!
I found this site in Smart Computing Magazine just when I decided to start to knit again after about 20 years. I looked at the videos, to joggle my old brain, and it all came back. I already have posted and recieved a reply about entralac technique. the help was wonderful. I will be visiting here alot!
Thanks for the joy I am feeling about taking back up with my first "sport."
I went through college knitting in classes, and did better than I would have if I had to actually listen to those professors drone on (by the way, I have become one of those). I can cast-on based on in various college subjects including English, French, biology, physics, anthroplogy...

Welcome Vivian and Merryknits! Yeah Vivian, knitting while listening to someone drone on (be it in a class, in a meeting, or talking with a loquatious friend) is perhaps my FAVORITE application of knitting!

I've been here for a little while, but have not put anything here. My name is Jennifer. I live on the north coast of OR. I have been knitting since 1996 and have never tired of all the new and interesting things we can knit. Right now, I am venturing into felted projects. Thank you for this site. It has been a big help and fun fellowship.

Jennifer
