I can't find a pattern!
Hi there

I am new to pattern hunting! My grandmother has offered to knit me a jumper but I am having trouble finding the right pattern.

I would like the pattern for a chunky loose wool knit fisherman's rib style jumper. This probably isn't the correct description but something simple with a simple neck, not too high.

I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction!

Many thanks :-)

Ravelry's a good place to find such things, as is Knitty. Knitting Pattern Central has some good items too. Since I don't have accounts on Ravelry or Knitty, I usually start with Google when I'm looking for something and not quite sure what I'm looking for.

You might try looking for patterns that use the brioche stitch. It looks very similar (if not the same) as fisherman's rib.

If you join Ravelry (it's free), you can search for a jumper or a sweater and on the right side of the search screen, you can input size, yarn weight (probably bulky), and fabric characteristics (ribbed/ribbing). You can also just type in "brioche sweater" or "brioche jumper" and see what you get.

For example, here's one.

I thought it would be much easier to come up with a pattern in fisherman's rib or any of its variations. This may not be exactly what you want but perhaps it could be modified.
