What to do about mysterious extra stitch
Hi,
Im going batty unraveling and knitting and unraveling. I'm making a shrug and am working the back in stockinette. Every sixth row I increase on both sides until I have 114 stitches. Last increase I should have had 112. I have 113. Nothing I can do can seem to get rid of this extra stitch. I have unravelled almost back to the first row of this segment, yet w/ so many stitches on the needle and in such fine yarn, it gets tedious. Can i just decrease and hope it won't be noticeable, so I have the requisite 112 for this round? THANKS, |
Yes, you can decrease where it doesn't interfere with the pattern--most likely at an edge.

no directions
I was casting on the sts for the front of a sweater. I did the first row no problems and the second row a stitch with no directions I thought maybe I read it wrong. I did a redo of the ribbing three times before I put a marker in and found that I was skipping a stitch. Now each row comes out perfect. Sometimes just adding something like a marker helps us keep track of what we are doing.
