Hi there! I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I'm making a checker board baby blanket with a seed stitch edge. The checkerboard pattern is k9 p9. My stitches where I switch from purl to knit on the checkerboard are coming out really loose. I try to give a little extra pull on the yarn when I finish those stitches but it isn't helping. Any ideas?
TIA

Welcome to KH!!
You might want to try knitting the row before you change the ks and ps a little tighter there...they may be to lose because of the row below...
eta: it might also be that your tension with purling is different from the knitting causing the lose stitches...

I don't know if you knit English or German-style (Continental), but as a German-style knitter I was very prone to loose purl stitches. I've actually adjusted the way I purl so that I catch the yarn "under" my needle instead of "over" it when I purl. I have to knit differently now too, but my tension is much more consistent.
There are a couple of different ways to purl here on Knitting Help: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/purl-stitch
I've taken to the "combined purl" method lately and like it a lot.
Have fun.
