Need help with my blanket if anyone has the time?

Hi there, i've never posted since i've always been able to figure out what to do, i've been knitting a couple months but nothing major just one or 2 skein scarfs and other really easy stuff lol...Well i figured i could teach myself to sew 2 pieces together for a baby blanket i'm making but i just can't get it..I knew i should just added the skeins lol...Could someone please give me some advice on sewing the 2 pieces together? Thank you so very much :)
