CROCHET AFAHGAN

:knitting:Hello everyone.
I am interested in making an afahgan , crocheted or knitted for my 8 year old grandson. I am going to use two or three colors using nfl colors. Would anyone have a good pattern that would be nice to use? I have been looking and looking and just cannot come up with anything that I think would be nice for him. It would be best if it is close stitch.

To me, it's easier to change colors on a crocheted afghan than a knitted. The changes don't show on the back side. A ripple might be nice. Many people like this pattern. http://home.att.net/~susanBinKC/patterns.html?ripple.html
