New knitter confused about a bind off!

I'm working a pattern that has a decrease down to 2 stitches on the needle---then bind off. I don't know how to bind off when I'm working with just those 2 stitches left. Thanks in advance for your help!

You could just knit 2 tog or SSK.

That's what I'd do - but what they mean would be done knit 2, pass 1st knit stitch over the second, then you have just 1 stitch like after a normal cast-off.
