can I-cords be substituted with a simple crochet chain?

i havent been able to find and DPNs at any of the nearby stores

an i-cord is a lot thicker than a crochet chain. Do you have any circular needles? If so, they can be used just as well for icord as dpns.

i have also done a small stockinette chain and then just stitched it up. works especially well if it is being felted. i reeeeeeeally hate i-cord! :wall:

ohhh, cool i just watched the video. so even though it says "DPNs for I-cord" i can just slip the sts right? ~whew~ that helps loads.
