Beginner fair isle hat

Here's my first attempt at fair isle. I came up with the pattern after messing around with some colored pencils and graph paper. It's for a little friend of ours who is turning 2.

I'll be giving the hat to the birthday boy this week. I'm hoping he likes it (unlike my kid, who acts like the hat is lined in razors when I put it on her head.)
