Hello! I am new and I LOVE this site!
I am a fairly new knitter and I just made a cable knit scarf. I followed the instructions from a book and it said to p6 then cable then p6 again. My problem is that I finished w/ the scarf and the edges CURL! I can't get them to uncurl. I'm wondering if I should have put a border on it? I tried getting it wet and doing the towel trick, but that didn't work either. Could it be that I was stitching to tightly? Is there a rule about doing cable knit that I am missing? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I'm happy to embrace anything. :D

I'm guessing that the six stitches on either side of the cable are in reverse stockinette - purled on the right side rows and knitted on the wrong side rows. That type of stitch curls, plain and simple. It is the curse of all knitter-kind :teehee: . There is a thread here (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4785) discussing this at length with some suggestions that you could try.
