Sorta OT -- Sweater stone versus sweater shaver

Has any one used both and have a preference?

Here is an example of the sweater stone

I'm wanting to use it more for things like sweatshirts and other actual fabrics, not handknit things.

I have the stone and it does get some of it off, but it takes patience (which I lack terribly) :teehee: so I don't really use it too much...

Oh, yeah, I did once use the shaver years ago and it was crap. But maybe there's something new that's better...

anythng has to be better than a shaver - i've been going after a lion brand wool-ease wrap for like a month now and have barely got the first band clean.

My sweater shaver... worst $3.99 I ever spent at the grocery store.

I've not tried the sweater stone, but am curious now. I'd never heard of that before.

For my felting projects (which prompted me to purchase said sweater shaver), I've given up and gone for the more expedient and useful tool, the disposable double-blade ladies' razor. I can defuzz a handbag in under two minutes.

I just bought a sweater stone to use on my Malabrigo cropped cardi... its GREAT! You should SEE the size of the fuzzball I pulled off of it! LOVE IT!! :cheering:
