WHICH CAST ON?

I was wanting to do the opposite of a garter stitch scarf which would be a purl stitch scarf. Now, i was going to use the long tail cast on, but it would create an already-knitted row. :doh: I dont want that. I have looked at the purl long tail cast on and it confuses me. :?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! :muah: :cheering: :happydance: :heart:

Do you mean that you are going to purl all stitches? If so, that also creates garter stitch.
