i want to crochet on both fronts of knit cardigan, but if i go into each stitch it is way to full and dosen't lay straight. should i do something like crochet 3, skip 1. can you tell me the ratio? wouldn't even mind doing a shell pattern, but don't know how. thank you lynne

I'm not sure of the exact ratio for crochet, but for knitting it's usually k3, skip one.

I usually try something like 2 crochet stitches for every 3 knit ones.
