Increasing - which is the better way?

I am knitting a baby sweater (from DB Beginner Knits for Babies) and its telling me to make an increase. These are instructions:

"Inc row (right side) Inc one st, k to last st, inc one st"

Which is the best increase to do here???

These directions tell me that you should do a knit into the front and back increase. If you want, though, you can do an M1 increase between the first and second stitches from each end.
