question regarding dpns

when you are knitting with dpns, do you just follow the pattern (say for a hat) and end up binding off at the top of the hat? It's for the preemie hat I am making....i am thinking it may be faster.

Yup. Though I prefer the two-circular-needle method to DPNs...when I first read about it it scared me :shock: but then I tried it and now I swear by it!! Amy has a video here (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/advanced_techniques/), third video from the top.
