darning in old yarn while knitting new yarn

Anyone able to help me with a technique for darning in the end of ball of yarn or a ball of one color while knitting the new ball or new color, rather than cutting the end and weaving it in later on? I read about this in Domino Knitting but can't figure out how to do it. thanks so much!

It sounds like you're talking about just overlapping the two strands, and knitting with both for a few stitches. That's the easiest way; it has it's advantages and disadvantages. For more on that, and other methods, see "joining yarn" in the Basic Techniques/More section.
