moss stitch question

This website is totally awesome for a beginner knitter. I wateched the video on the moss (seed) stitch. I understand how the stitches look different. My problem is when I turn the needle around and start back, my first stitch seems to be the same. I got the effect for a couple of rows, but I feel I must be doing something wrong when I get ready to sew a new row. Any advice on the seed stitch would be great.

When working seed stitch, whatever the last stitch you did on a row was is the first stitch you'll do on a new row.

If you end on a purl stitch, when you turn the work, your first stitch will be a purl stitch again. The same goes for ending on a knit stitch, turn the work and do a knit stitch at the start of the next row,
